REF: A/N's ... the detail is great and necessary, considering the timeframe.
Chapter 16 cracked me up. You let Krecher get high??? And his voice changed???? ROFLMAO! Ms_Figg you are truly the most twisted fanfic writer I've had the pleasure of reading. Who cares if it's strictly canon. Your ideas are great and I am really enjoying this story. Can't wait for the action!
Loved the openess between the two. Can hardly wait to see Hermione and Dahlia go to London. Maybe they could swing by Ollivanders for a look.
I liked the interaction between Severus and Artimus, especially to find out Artimus is serious about his role as a teacher. It seems he has a different voice when dealing with someone in authority than when he is out on his own. Is that on purpose?
Yes, it is on purpose. Most of us have our "normal" voice when dealing with regular folk and a "professional" voice when dealing with others in authority. Artimus reflects that. He is more on point dealing with Severus than say, with Dahlia or Steede.
if Tom arrived in 1938... Albus became Headmaster after he graduated... that means 1945 or later :) anyway... I love how u manage to combine the 2 stories so perfectly! and I can't wait to read the book, it will be amazing (btw, I want to learn more about that summer camp! it sounds really interesting! :)) 10x, Ms_Figg, great work again!
DeChagny: Albus retrieved Tom from the orphanage so I believe he was Headmaster before 1938 to make a decision like that. But Voldie did graduate in '45. It's really fun and interesting to try and merge canon (where applicable) with an alternate universe/crossover. And I'm glad you're enjoying the story. It's not for everyone. Oh, and if you want to learn more about summer camp . . . I have a little short. It's not about the camp itself but how they collect the young sorcerers. You might have read it already but others might not have. Here's the link: http://www.ruthrsolomon.com/camp/index.htm
DeChagny: I checked it out, and it doesn't actually say when Dumbledore became Headmaster, only that he was at Hogwarts when Tom arrived. If we go by the movie the Chamber of Secrets, Tom addresses him as "Professor" rather than Headmaster, but Harry does that too sometimes. I might be wrong, but it's possible Dumbledore was already the Headmaster when Tom arrived, although I'm not sure. The details are sketchy which is why I only gave a three year leeway to make Albus a relatively new Headmaster. If anyone can offer any enlightenment, my ears are open.
Dumbledore actually became headmaster in 1956, just so ya know. He was the Transfiguration teacher when Riddle started school. http://www.hp-lexicon.info/timelines/timeline.php?startyear=1900&endyear=1959
Shawna: Thank you for that. I did visit the HP Lexicon and went through the Dumbledore timeline and didn't come up with a date. I've edited the story to reflect the new info. Thank you so very much. ****
I admit, I was a little put of at first. Being the Snape fan that I am, I needed a chapter or two to get my bearings, but I am so glad I did. The story seems to be coming along very well, and the two worlds are over-lapping beautifully. I will definatly be looking forward to reading more about Artimus and company. (Thank you again, though, for one last Snape/Hermione fic.) Oh, and I love that Steede takes bribes. I giggled at that one, but I truly LOL'd at Kreacher being high.
Ahem. Skipped a little something didn't we? By we, I mean you. And by a little something, I mean... well, you KNOW what I mean. Lol. There had better be some big-time action in London to make up for the lemon skippage.
lol. Yeah, I skipped it. When writing Severus and Hermione, I usually don't include full lemons of others, the exceptions being Remus and Isadora, Ginny and Percival, Mathias and Jasmine, who were all tied to the HP world. Besides, I want to save something for the novel. ;)
a cleric in London? that will be interesting :) I can smell the action already! the lemons were sooo short, but I know this story is mostly about hg/ss and serves as an introduction into your new world, so I can't be disappointed :) anyway, I thought Dumbledore was just a Professor until after Tom graduated, cuz in his 5th year, Dippet was the Headmaster (in the book Tom asks him if he can stay in the school for the summer if the guy, who had opened the chamber, is caught)... and I think somewhere in the 6th book it was said that Dumbledore became Headmaster short before Tom asked for the DADA job for the first time... the frustrating thing is that my books are in Germany and I can't check... anyway, it doesn't really matter, I just thought I know the HP books and when smth like this comes up, I feel awful :D 10x for the new chapter btw, it's great!
DeChagny: You were right. Someone else found the info for me that Dumbledore became Headmaster of Hogwarts in 1956, after Tom left. So he retrieved him while he was still a teacher.
About Albus's headmaster dates, I think he was still transfiguration professor when Tom arrived. Dippet was head. So, the 50s would be more accurate.
I was finally able to sit down and read this wonderful story. This was a great idea to introduce your new world. I am enjoying this very much and can't wait to see what happens when Hermione and Dahlia visit London. I love the interaction between Severus and Artimus both are very passionate characters, which is why they clashed at first. Now that they understand each other I can see a nice friendship forming (well maybe friendship is not the right word for those two). I can't wait to read more.
Update it already!!!!!!
Sorry, but I couldn't help noticing you spelt 'Voldie' as 'Volsie' in the synopsis.
I was really enjoying this one, I hope you pick it up again sometime soon.
I realize you are busy keeping up with your other stories but just wanting to know if you plan on adding more to this story anytime soon it is absolutely fab. so far.
