Early Severus Snape Stories


I have always been fascinated with wondering what Severus was like as a seventh-year student and young adult, and I have three little-read short stories on this site that address possible scenarios that range from his first heartbreak (ala Sirius Black) with a young woman named Sabrina, to his predatory sexual nature toward witches through his seduction of a young witch named Eve (with a cameo by Lucius Malfoy), to what led to him turning himself in to Dumbledore, possibly influenced by another rather promiscuous young lady named Echo.

I would like to invite you all to read these stories, even though they predate Hermione, who was running around in her nappies when Severus was first indoctrinated into the deatheaters.  I think they are interesting enough to hold your attention, though they are OFC/PWP's in essence.  But they are also about how Severus may have developed into the man he became. If you read them, please leave a review because I am very interested in your thoughts about how I treated the subject of the young Potions Master's development. The First Heartbreak of Severus Snape

The first story entitled "The Heartbreak of Severus Snape" tells how eighteen-year-old Severus initially developed his low opinion of women and how he ended up joining the Dark Lord.  This is also the first story I wrote that got the ire of readers enamored of the dark wizard, and I received many scathing emails and about it from those who absolutely hated this portrayal of the young Potions Master.  So many that I had to write a separate author's note explaining why I wrote the story.  There is no redemption in it and it is a very harsh, brutal tale.  Severus discovers doing evil has its benefits and it opens the way for him to fall to Voldemort...or Tom Riddle.  I think it is a very possible scenario, and would like to know what you think.

Making Time at the Hog's Head Inn

This story revolves around the Potions Master at age 19.  He is a deatheater and has come into his own.  He enjoys witches and often entertains Tom Riddle with his sexual skills, but in this case because of his workload  finds himself going without for a few weeks.  He meets and seduces a rather quiet and shy witch named Eve at the Hogs Head Inn, with Lucius running interference on her sister Dawn.  It is a transitory story, meant to show the wizard's attitude...which is rather carefree at this point because he is quite respected and feared.

It Happened One Night in Knockturn Alley. 

This is my favorite of all the early Potions Master stories.  In it, a troubled twenty-one year old Severus wants out of the deatheaters and is torn about what to do.  He meets a young woman named Echo, who was following him after a deatheater meeting let out.  They have a rather hot engagement in a niche in Knockturn Alley, but it turns out Echo is quite a perceptive young woman, who has quite a bit to do with Severus' decision as to what to do about the deatheaters.
