I was so busy with my bathroom that I fell behind on this story. I went to read the updated chapter and I see that you finished the story. I was a little shocked to say the least. I really liked this story. It is the best DH compliant story that I have read. I did feel sorry for Rod and Rose at the dance, but some people are not just meant to be. I did think it was funny that Hermione and Severus had three children of their own. Now that my bathroom is done maybe I can finally catch up on In an Alternate Universe, I started it but never got back to it :) You did an amazing job on this story :)
You goofed at the end... Albus can't marry them, he's dead, remember?
I believe Rod and Rose will have their day. They were "looking at each other longingly" as Hermione and Severus took their vows, and Rod is a supervisor now and their differences were "patched up." Just because I didn't say they were together doesn't mean they aren't or won't be. I like leaving some things to the imagination. :) Whew. I can take a little breather now.

You almost had me at tears near the end, So very well done. I think this fic here is one of the most unique you have written character wise. Severus is always very undenabley dark in your fiction (just the way we like him) But you made him more human in this piece. He was so vunerable and different... but the changes were so subtle that never once could he be OOC. This is now my choice ending to the HP series. Again you amaze me! Also... I am loving the alternate uni fic. It is so much fun.

OMG!!! That was so BEAUTIFUL!!! AAW factor is so so so high! and if I didn't know better I'd say that Rod was Severus' distant relation. Hehe. Lol about Hugo and his lady, it totally fits with his character! and Rose is just like her mother isn't she! I wonder if Rod is anything like Severus...? hehe, if so she's in for a wild ride, hehe.
Oh yes: I enjoyed reading this a lot! I loved the way Severus' revenge didn't work as he had planned: Hermione's reaction and the hot, touching and delicious lemons were excellent. *melt* And the ending was wonderful too. Thank you so much for sharing! :D

I have to say that this story made me so so emotional that at times I couldn't stand it. When Snape had read off the list of people who had died to stop Voldemort, I sobbed. same with the very end. Hi Ms Figg, I'm happy to read in your livejournal that you feel better now! As my name may indicate my first langage is french and I just now read the prologue of the traduction of the story in french. This is accurate so far and I'm also happy to note that it is faultless too. I imagine that as an author this is something that you would like to known that your baby as been greatly taken care of... Great story, with very believable original charakters. I really did like this much more matured Hermione. It's suits her. The End was romantic, with her marry him and get pregnant again. *lol*
I LOVED this story! Absolutely adored Severus in this one. And I really liked your original character, Rod. Very nicely done!
And, as a more mature woman, I really enjoyed the more mature love with both Hermione and Severus being quite a bit older before they get together!!!
Hello Ruth...I have fininshed reading "A New Beginning" and as I promised...here is my review. "WOW!!!!!!" As all of your stories go, it was wonderful! A gentle Severus was a different angle for you concerning the couple (when compared to the other stories). I found it refreshing...but must admit that I was (in my mind) urging Severus to let go and really do the "pounding" we all have become accustomed to. But you did manage to slip in a wee bit of hammering. An emotional Severus was different also. Yes, you have written him with emotions before, but in this story, he purposely brought them out for Hermione to see. Some may argue that this is too far OOC for him, but you explained the reasoning behind it well with the story of Lily and Severus in the early years. He didn't want a repeat of his shortcomings and possible missed opportuninties that he experienced with Lily to affect the budding friendship/love that he was experiencing with Hermione. So he gathered his inner strength and told the witch how he truly felt. I like that he was still a Slytherin through-and-through. The jokes he played on Hermione and the children were priceless! Bubblegum?!?!?! That is hilarious! I also like how the women in your stories are not perfect little barbie dolls. You make them believable and more realistic. There is nothing wrong with a woman with cushion. I am not as thin as I was in my twenties...but have matured into a softer version of the girl I was. I would not allow myself to become obese--but that is something that I choose for myself. A woman needs to be happy with herself when she looks in the mirror; if she is not, then she needs to address that herself, and only for HERSELF! But Hermione reflected many of the insecurities that most women have occuring in their lives. Well done. Hugo was a hoot! You couldn't help but get caught up in his youthful exuberance. He was also fair-minded and empathetic towards others. Rose was sweet...but also a typical teenager. When my parents divorced and mom met my step-dad...I reacted in similar ways. It was believable. The relationship (or lack there of--or budding???) between her and Rod was refreshing to watch. Rod....a very complicated young fellow. Alot like our "young" Severus without the darkness and excessive anger pouring from him. I clued in that he was never a Hufflepuff (?)--and figured him a Slytherin all along by his self-serving nature. But may I interject that his traits may have been learned by being exposed to it and for survival purposes. We are human; we adapt. The stone was a good piece of writing brilliance. The way you weaved it in and allowed it to heal old wounds, cause upheaval, and then to let Voldie slip in...amazing. There is so much more I could go on with about this story...it is a truly brilliant piece of work. As all your stories are. Please keep writing. Tonya

You are too fabulous for words. I started reading this story when you first posted it and left it about 5 months ago until I finished it tonight. I must say, I am glad I returned. You are wonderful, you should be published, your words bring tears to my eyes and laughter to my heart. I can honestly say that when Snape whispers loving words to Hermione, I honestly feel my heart clench. No other author can do this for me. You make me cringe with horror when things go poorly for our characters yet make me actually cry with delight and exlpoding love in my heart when things go well. You bring such power to your words and your words bring such raw delight to your reader, I can honestly say you are one of the best authors out there...published or unpublished...you deserve awards. Thank you for writing your stories. You have no idea how much joy you have brought this loyal reader of yours! that was an amazing story a perfect beginning for my first snape/hermione stories, and im sure many more of them are to come after this one, mostly yours ur an amazing writer! i was hooked! for two straight days i read, simply amazing!
